Listening to 'El Avion de la Muerte' (The Plane of Death) - GREAT REVENGE STORY!
True story of a 35 year old Mexican drug trafficker/pilot called Manuel Atilano Escandon, that in 1979, was arrested and tortured by the military.
Then, because Manuel Atilano knew the area of the mountains of Chihuahua, they used him as their pilot on a routine inspection. He flew out with three military man.
In mid-air, Manuel changes course and flies to Badiraguato, Sinaloa. His intentions were to crash the military plane at the PGR (attorney general of Mexico) headquarters, but when he arrived, he saw it was close to a school with children and teachers playing outside, so instead of crashing into the PGR headquarters, he preferred to crash the plane on a hill nearby.
Here are is a rough translation:
In Chihuahua they apprehended him
Having no reason whatsoever
and then they tortured him
Having zero compassion for him
They jailed his friend
and they boarded the plane
Now heading towards Sinaloa
Atilano shouted at them
"Now I give the orders,
If you want to, use your weapons,
I want to see that valor,
you demonstrated on the ground."
From the plane he reported
Everything they had done to him
That with pliers they had crushed
Nobles parts of his body
And that he would crash the plane
Even if it would cost him his life
In the control tower
Everything was being recorded
Screams of terror were heard
And three men that cried
Atilano would laugh
and would threatened them more
The lieutenant and his soldiers
Regretted their actions
They had tortured a great rooster
I don't think they knew
That on the plane of death
They had boarded on that day
The lieutenant would tell him
"My wife is waiting for me"
Atilano responded
"We're going to crash now,
I too have a wife
and she too will cry"
Arriving at Badiraguato
Helicopters were taking off
He was going to crash against the headquarters
Because of a school he did nothing
The helicopters came back down
They felt he would take them with him
He said farewell to his friends
Aviation comrades
And then over at a hill
He crashed the plane
In Chihuahua and Sinaloa
What memories he left them
