Has the media always been fake? Or did cellphones and social media make it that way?

I was born in 83 and grew up in Southern Ca. Needless to say the news on TV & the newspapers always featured horrible attrocities committed by gangs & drug dealers.

These days cellphones and social media have transformed the news. I understand cellphones dont always capture the full story & I understand social media bias but at the same time its also opened our eyes to another side of the story.

I believe it was only a bit tampered with originally, and little by little it evolved into a complete crock of $h!t.

These days it’s full blown bias, narrative pushing, blatant lies with an agenda. You can barely refer to it as news.

Clickbait.. not sourcing.. rushing to put out the news first (the maga hat kids is the best example) without getting the full story.

Social media is a big factor yeah.. the internet in general.. You used to have to wait till certain times in the evening to get news.. now I just whip out my phone

Honestly though maybe the news was always fake/biased and we didn't have social media other outlets to call them out on the BS?

Why tell the truth and let the readers have enough intelligence to give it some thought when you can just right the billionth article how Trump bad post a few Twitter quotes from ppl never heard of like dogfuker629. Use words like woke, break da internet, clapback, gucci and ala you a hip trendy writer.

I read a book recently on Ty Cobb. Some older article stated that Cobb got into a fight with a guy at a hotel and that the guy was black and it was a racial incident. The author of the Cobb book started digging and found out that the guy was white and there was nothing racial to it. Haha. Fake news has always been around. Even back then, you sell more papers when you bring up race. It's an easy topic to stoke flames. Today is definitely no different.

There was a time when we had real journalists in the news. They went to journalism school, they did their time in the field investigating news stories, and reported the news. Not to say some weren't biased, but they could risk losing their jobs or lawsuits for spouting or printing fake news. Those days are over. Now we have 24 year old college graduates with liberal arts degrees running news rooms, spewing bias and spinning the news in such a way as to make you see what they want you to see. It's all smoke and mirrors now.

CNN ratings have plummeted... but still, they lie

anyone with a clue could see those ratings, and do something about it

but, no... nothing

this is all about political leverage and control

CNN are prepared to burn their credibility, ALL of it... to achieve the desired goal... because they are just a political tool, one of many... same as deep-state operatives like Judge Emmett Sullivan, Jeff Sessions, etc... these political tools are willing to totally expose themselves for this reason... they have their backs to the wall, and have no other choice, simply because they are fighting for their lives

lets face it... Sullivan is a kiddie-fcuker, so is Sessions... and so are the CNN execs

most likely caught up in the Epstein honey-trap, or the Hollywood mansion parties... which is why they are so easily controlled
