Got a bit pissed up last night lost my keys. Couldn't get back inside so i slept in the garden woke up with condensation all over my clothes shivering n chit. Im considering getting a human sized cat flap put on my back door. For future situations. is there an inherent security risk in doing so though?

Just put a spare key in a small water proof container. A metal waterbottle would be good.
Then dig a shallow hole somewhere and bury it. (like maybe 6"-12" deep or something).
In the event of an emergency like yesterday you can retrieve it. A thief would never know its there.
With a human size hole in your door, well pretty much anybody could enter your house at any time, you think that is a great idea? Plus animals too, which will smell the food inside or feel the heat inside in the winter.
