I like to listen to online radio, that way I get to hear music I've never heard before. There's so much music in the world, I want to listen to as much of it as I can. There's a commercial radio station in upstate NY, pix 106.

They've been playing the same top 40-60 songs as they were 30 years ago. Ugh.

I look at it a little different maybe....music can snap me out of a mood as well as put me in one. Sometimes there is no mood, i just listen and enjoy. One minute I'm listening to a soft jazz ballad, then the next song is upbeat and swinging free jazz. Same with other music genre's.
