Unless a planet at least has a manageable atmosphere and gravity, there's no point in leaving Earth. A proper atmosphere and the perfect level of gravity makes life worth living.

''Honey, pack up the kids. We're leaving this place of plenty and relocating to the Sahara Desert . It will be exciting. We will have food, water and electricity Fed Ex'd to us.''

The moon has pockets of crystallized nitrogen which can be used for rocket fuel. The moon also has highly concentrated quan****** of iron, nickel, tungsten cobalt and other Rare Earth Elements, There are also mountains of potential minerals and metals and elements on mars, other moons and planets.

IOW, The Moon has everything we don't have here on Earth.....

I can't wait for people to start leaving.

The moon has rare minerals like nickel, tungsten and cobalt which are non-renewable resources and are being used up.

You don't have to permanently leave the earth to make a profitable venture outside of it.

The moon also contains Helium 3 which is an isotope that could potentially be used in nuclear fusion.

If humanity can utilize nuclear fusion, then we will finally have an endlessly renewable clean source of energy. If human beings can unlock nuclear fusion, then that will be the next stage of our evolution. Imagine what can be accomplished with unlimited clean energy.

A space ship with a nuclear fusion reactor could potentially run for centuries. That means humans could stay in space farther and longer. We can make vast space stations with a fusion reactor as the energy, heat and light source to grow food and recycle air and water in space

Mankind has not only existed, but thrived quite well without those minerals and such. To leave Earth to live is a silly idea. Sounds exciting until you're doing it.

A person needs to forget the ''cool'' factor and think about what life would actually be like on another planet that has no......

A - atmosphere. Radiation poisoning is real.
B - either no gravity or levels that would turn a space shuttle into mush pudding.
C - discernable means of producing food and or water.
D - Sun whose place in the universe is in the Goldilocks area. Not too far and not too close.

If a person is seeking their fortune by mining other planets, they should know how much it costs to mine said planet. Only billionaires need apply.

                Meh

I wish those who leave to hurry up

Not in our lifetime and the space ships that exist now would not have us on them.
