Looks like the US and China were just about ready to come to a trade agreement when at the last minute China pulled out on a few key specifics crucial to the deal. They have constantly pulled this tactic at the last minute with US in the past, however, this time it looks like there will be a penalty to pay.

China is so used to calling the US's bluff on tariffs, and they're about 10000-0 up to this point VS "career politician" presidents who are just in office to cash out to the highest bidding foreign corporation who will pay them $1 million per "speaking event" upon retirement if they legislate properly.
