harold lederman, jim lampley, emanuel steward and larry merchant were basically household names when i was growing up. HBO boxing seemed like it would last forever. hard to believe. but it's a business after all. haven't been following boxing like i used to since maybe about 2015 but it seems clear to me why HBO decided to hang up the gloves.
