Im not see anything in your article about Natives complaining but I do see the following

It also says she had also claimed back in 2011 that she was 1/32 Cherokee but then couldnt find the documents.

Let me tell you something not so funny though. I actually have seen all my Creek family tree with indian reservations and everything but as soon I told the family holder of these documents that I wanted a copy to show some schools, she refused . No other explanation but that she has pure unadulterated bitter jealousy and or scorn for me

As you can see in that Times article her being Cherokee was a non issue for voters.

And while many have pointed out that the current principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, is only 1/32 Cherokee, his background is not like Warren's; he was "born and raised in Cherokee County" and is a direct descendant of "Nancy Walker Osage, an early Tahlequah business owner and Cherokee Healer" listed on the Dawes Rolls.
