Also, if we have drugs on earth.... imagine how many millions of drugs exist....... ****......

there might be a trillion ways to get high.

    Trillions and trillions.

If you travel far enough you will even meet an exact version of yourself.

it's a matter of how incredibly difficult and impractical it owuld be to contact another civilization. the nearest solar systems are lightyears away. that is, they are the multiples of the distances that light travels in an entire year. light travels 300,000,000 meters every second. just trust me when i say that you have no concept at all of how far a lightyear is, light wouldmake its way around the earth multiple times in a single second, make its way to our sun, close to 100 million miles, in 8 minutes.

i doubt very much that the universe is "teeming with life" instead i'd guess that there are very few planets with an environment conducive to the development of intelligent life. the argument is instead that the universe is so f#cking big, maybe even infinite, and the idea that we are the only planet with the conditions for intelligent life in light of those facts is absurd.

if the universe is truly infinite you'd meet an infinite amount of exact versions of yourself. any event with any probability above zero would occur an infinite amount of times.

          It's not infinite.

if you could prove that, kid, you'd be a famous academic. my guess is that you couldn't get through the first line of the first equation needed to do so! or turn on the instruments necessary for measuring such a phenomenon!

The universe had a beginning and a definite size.

You cannot go from a definite size to infinite.

              Simple logic

Aaah....but we only know about the observable universe.
                Its expansion is infinite.
We can only measure the age of the universe, and its expansion keeps accelerating. So its expanding faster than light. Plus the universe might be an odd round shape which would mean it has no edge...and er...yea...i dont know wtf im talking about.

But as far as aliens. I think a species reaches a point where it can mass produce iphones. Then the species with all that information and knowledge at their finger tips prefer to watch videos of cats falling over and p.orn.. Killing the basic practice of working hard to achieve something. And the effect overall , is a dumber species.
The elite will travel the universe, but in such tiny numbers. And they avoid species as dumb as us.

Maybe if you are advanced enough to master intergalactic travel, hairless apes arguing over oil isnt that interesting.

No, if you believe the Universe had a beginning and had a definite, size, then it cannot be infinite.

And you are assuming that the expansion is infinite, it is not.

If the numbers are right, then even just in our own galaxy they are around 50 million planets than can support life.

Some could have been at our level of technology millions of years ago.

                  Yet none, have visited us?

They either are unable to, or something else stops them.

Just because something has a beginning, that doesnt stop it from being infinite. Or does it? Im thinking something that is eternal has no beginning or end.

If many alien civilizations have been at our level of technology, that doesnt mean much. We also havent visited any other planets capable of supporting life.

Also, just because a planet has the right conditions for life, that doesnt mean it will produce life.

No new mass/energy can be created in the universe. So eventually it will expand so much it will just be radiation and not expand.

But either way, it has a definite size now.

The point is that millions of aliens civilizations would have reach our stage millions of years ago, but not advanced to crossing the expanse of space in those million years after.

And if the right conditions of life doesn't produce life then what does? God?
