If companies decide to ban people who spread dangerous lies, then I can live with that.

Free speech is a right that comes with responsibilities. If people can't meet their responsibilities, then they forfeit that right.

But it shouldn't be limited to just one type of dangerous, deceitful asshole. It should include anyone who does the same thing.

That is working on the assumption that Jones is being kicked off platforms for the content of his shows, and not for other reasons - such as breaching various terms of use etc.

This is the guy that came up with the looney “ parkland shooting” conspiracy theory, the “Seth Rich murder” conspiracy, etc.

He just makes stuff up causing people to get death threats and harassment from other weirdos like himself.

I got no sympathy for an outright liar and propagandist like Alex Jones.

It’s not like he doesn’t have his own website to spread his lies anyway.

Apple Has the right to decide who they want to ban.

Being a libertarian I agree. Vote with your money. You agree, buy their stuff. Dont agree and still buy it you're part of the problem. Simple really.

I think we live in times which are more divisive and senselessly partisan than ever, and that this is a really bad thing.

The media seems to be part of this problem. Like they are drawing battle lines, and lurching towards further divisions.

It's a good question.

The thing is, it should be easy enough to tell the difference. But people are so damned prone to self deceit, that it becomes hard for them.

This predisposition towards self-deceit is, in my opinion, the biggest challenge, and the biggest weakness, of the human race.

My guess, and my optimism, lies in a future where technology can help us overcome this.
