I'm on board for Universal Healthcare, Hell I'd be ok with 6-8% tax increase to make it happen, I pay more than that out of pocket now anyways.

You've given me nothing but tech garbage. You righties say Venezuela for an excuse but Norway is showing us it can work. Scandinavia has free healthcare but yet the greatest country on earth can't? That's an embarrassment.

Tech garbage? You wouldn't be able to survive today without your AMERICAN made Smart Phone, computer, and internet. The only thing Norway is showing us is that its healthy to have the worlds largest oil investment fund that subsidizes their small population to go along with very low corporate taxes in order to attract business. Norway at it's heart is a capitalist country, their corporate and business taxes were much lower than ours before Trump came along and made them equivalent to Scandinavian levels.

      Until Reagan.

Until then a middle class family could own a home, have a yearly vacation, own a pet etc on a single wage.

Now the average wage in the US is 51k, which even with the bare minimums cannot make ends meet.
Well said.. my dad who made 33k managed to provide a roof over my head, food on the table, with a 4th grad education...my dad greater than me...

The bottom line is the contentment of the populous. Scandinavian countries have led all others in terms of the happiness of its people. This above all others is something to ponder.

Saying its better than the USA is subjective in the sense that if you want to pay taxes out the as$ for some basic assurances then yeah. It's certainly not better than the USA when it comes to cost of goods from a car, gas, electronics, all the way down to a carton of eggs, nor is it better when discussing the home and rent prices, as well as the populations disposable income.
Many of the policies practiced by those countries are the same as those espoused by Sanders but Sanders is a communist?

Slowly socializing the society over time will lead to communism. You can't jump from free market capitalism immediately into a centralized economic system overnight, otherwise you'd turn into Venezuela, no its a step by step process. You start with a wave like the Sanders wing, who have some good ideas on paper, but then the Sanders wing becomes milk toast in 10 years compared to the new left wing who have lovely messages like these.

The DSA doesnt represent Democratic Socialism as a whole, they’re just an organization, even Bernie Sanders doesnt agree with everything they say.
