It might come to pass that it is a European team that wins but I don't think the WC being in Russia will have a bearing on that. The weather isn't bad there in summer and the players in the Brazil squad for example will have played just as many, if not more games in Russia at club level than the players in the Spain/Germany/France squads. 99% of the squad play club football in Europe!
I have Brazil down to win it - beating Spain in the final.

2010 - "No European side has won a WC outside of Europe"
2014 - "No European side has won a WC in South America"
Brazil would've probably won in 1998 if Ronaldo didn't have the seizure the night before the final. Argentina could've quite easily won it in 1990. It's not like they've arrived in Europe and just turned to mush.
Back in the 60s/70s/80s that thinking probably held more weight as most of the South Americans played in their home countries.
Why would Dembele-Griezmann-Mbappe be more adept to take on Russian conditions than Neymar-G.Jesus-Willian?
