Believe it or not New York is not quite as liberal as you might think. The most liberal part of it is the five boroughs of New York City, which makes up for a significant portion of the population.

And while this is anecdotal at best, I'm acquainted with more conservatives and liberals.

There are also a lot of jets fans in New Jersey since they do not officially have a professional football team in the NFL, even though MetLife Stadium is in New Jersey. New Jersey is blue but it's probably in a similar scenario is New York.
