And Detroit left him in one on one with Tayshaun Prince. Kobe kept trying to beat him again and again, not realizing he was playing right into their hands.

Ah well, it was just the nba finals anyway. As long as he played well in the western conference finals, thats what really counts, apparently.

You need to watch those games again

      Your memory is failing you

Pistons were switching and trapping and doubling kobe with prince, chauncy, rip, etc.

They left Ben Wallace one on one with shaq

They let shaq score but they were making sure kobe didn't get his

End of the day shaq put up numbers but couldn't keep it up

      This was older shaq

Young shaq would have just kept feasting

For your next argument, “but shaq won finals mvp”. Big deal. Everyone who was a fan of the nba back then knew the real competiton for the nba supremacy was in the western conference finals where Kobe feasted on teams. The finals was a mere afterthought where the Lakers lost what, 4 games in three finals.
        Well said. Very good post.

How you going to get dominated by a team full of role players? It wasn't a close series either that was one the biggest ass whopping witnessed in Finals history

****ing Rip Hamilton was putting up better numbers than Kobe

First, they didnt double Kobe in the half court.

They trapped the PG (whoever was bringing up the ball) to limit the time the Lakers had to run their sets.

Of course they switched when they got picked, thats what you are supposed to do. Otherwise Tayshaun had Kobe the whole time.

You proved my point by saying that a younger Shaq would have kept feasting.

This was Kobe's time to step up and he choked.

You are a ****ing idiot,, Lakers, 76ers, Pistons, all legendary teams that celtics had to battle every year.

              • Very close call. Both top 5 all time along with MJ, magic, and Kobe.

Bird did more with less, and never needed to run like a bytch from team to team looking for other all stars to play with.

Mchale and Parrish are too overrated greats.

Larry put teams on his back and won titles, lebron cruises thru weak east every year with handpicked all stars as teammates only to get embarrassed in the finals most of the time.

But bird on that heat team with bosh and wade and they win 4 straight titles, probably more as bird wouldn’t dip out like a bytch.

Bird wouldn’t get beat by some whack ass Dallas Mavericks team.

If dirk nowitski outgunned lebron in the finals, what would you think larry legend would do?
