I don't use facebook but created a facebook messenger account with my phone number only but now i don't want it anymore, how do i delete my account or deactivate it?

Click the downward arrow at the top right of any Facebook page.
Select "Settings"
Click "Security" in the left column.
Choose "Deactivate your account", then follow the steps to confirm.

Open Messenger. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner > Privacy & Terms > Deactivate Messenger. Enter your password and tap Continue. Tap Deactivate.
