I'm Canadian. The Queen here is just regarded as a figurehead...technically still head of state but all head of state duties are performed by the Canadian Governor General. Canadians don't feel British at all.

Perhaps the question should be is the UNITED KINGDOM an island...
          Great Britain is

United Kingdom includes northern Ireland which is not on the same island as england, scotland, etc.

          Great Britain is the island

          UK is the nation

England is a country/division of that nation

But since we're being all Geo nerd today.

As a kid I thought "wow the brits are so arrogant. Calling their island great"

Later I learned there was a lesser britain. Now call Brittany iirc part of France.

Hence why great britain. There was a lesser britian.

England is not surrounded on all sides by water. It's not an island.

Now can an admin close this dam thread already

Some would say Wales and Scotland should be under water

It's pretty bad when somebody won't believe ANYTHING someone says without a link

Same here but if we were doing an exam and it asked for our head of state you know what the answer would be. We are looking to remove her. How about Canada, are they looking to remove her? I doubt it though. You guys have her on your money.

Really? In these times of clickbait and crazy conspiracy theory, you gotta be circumspect.
