When Galileo was making remarkable discoveries (heliocentric (sun centred) solar system etc), amounst many others, first the scientific community/establishment laugh at him, then they call him names, then they locked him away, then finally - after he dies - he gets the recognition he deserves.

Sure they sound cool. But I can't remember the last space discovery that was mind blowing or that was relevant
