Violent protests force cancelation of Yiannopoulos appearance at Berkeley

    DAVIS, Calif. (KGO) --
A planned appearance Wednesday by controversial internet figure Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor for the conservative website Breitbart was canceled after protests turned violent on the U.C. Berkeley campus.

The 32-year-old Greek-born British journalist is a senior editor for the conservative news and opinion website. He's been called a spokesperson for the so-called "alt-right" movement for his extreme views on Islam, social justice, and political correctness.

This Milo Yiannopoulos fella? He happens to be a Greek immigrant. He's also gay. And has been in interracial relationships.

You'd think he'd be adored at a center of liberal group think like Berkeley.

But because he has a different political point of view and calls these progressive liberal fuck stains out on their bullshit, his freedom of speech is met with violence.

We have entered the Twilight Zone...

Huh. Always thought Milo was still 28. Seems like just yesterday he was on British media instead of American.

Colleges are filled with a bunch of regressive, fascist ideologies, and faculty and administrators are to blame.

Marquette University’s faculty is attempting to sabotage the event.

                While holding anti-Nazism signs

I don't think the violent outburst was necessary or acceptable but I haven't heard of any injuries reported plus a guy was prevented from spewing baloney alt-right propaganda on their campus so I think it was a win.

Kind of confused by the response to this - Do people think that free speech means that you have to be supported everywhere you go?

Yiannopoulos has the right to say and think whatever he wants. That doesn't mean every business has to open their doors for him and give him a platform for his speeches.
