He is educated (MBA from a big US college), very sophisticated and experienced in politics (former cabinet minister and ambassador)

Throughout history all the way to modern times, the U.S. has been a terrorist country to the world at large, as well. Specifically, the worst terrorist country, worldwide, since it gained global hegemony.

So, what do you suppose we do about that? How does blocking immigrants from entry help anything? What's that even have to do with the main source of terrorism on this planet, even?

All in all, the entire world struggles with terrorism, and limiting immigration based upon the U.S.' opinion of which countries are the worst is hypocritical on many levels. By those rules, the U.S. should be barring its own citizens from flying anywhere, not the other way around.

These measures do nothing to tackle the real issue of terrorism, both by small groups and entire states. It's racism and bigotry for-show and nothing else. One could even argue these measures leave our country in a more precarious position, for beyond the havoc we unleash on the planet, we're now also closing ourselves off based upon religion and race. A religiously and racially extremist country is one that will inevitably gain many enemies.

Racism and bigotry are intertwined in this respect, and there is clear evidence of its extension into Trump's concurrent measures, such as his ongoing attack upon Mexican immigrants. Overall, the U.S. is becoming more of a terrorist state as we speak.

So, what do you suppose we do about that? How does blocking immigrants from entry help anything?

Here's what you missed. We know what Americans are. We know what they're about. We know their status. Americans aren't bombing places anymore. Muslims are. That's statistically fact.

When you're coming in here from some terrorist country, they don't know how to screen you. They flat out admitted they don't know how to avoid another San Bernardino. Why? Because they're too afraid to profile - when that's exactly what they should be doing. They should profile each and every person who simply refuses to look less suspicious, profile each and every person who refuses to let their bags get checked, profile each and every person who just shows up without escort.

Yes, that means profiling Muslims. The net effect is a safer situation by assuming these groups are out to cause harm until they prove they're not. Go through all of the headaches it takes to become an American citizen full blood, you're more than welcome here (and I know quite a few that proudly did).

That's what other countries do. You can't just waltz into China/Mexico/Korea and set up shop. They're going to check everything about you, force you to jump through hoops, force you to their way of life, force you to get comfortable with their language and customs, likely detain you at the border - in fact, Mexico is likely to shoot you.

Yet we're supposed to just let theirs in? Why is that okay?

The wall is not the solution. The wall is a message. Just like the Great Wall. Just like all the other walls other countries have. It's a message that we're not wide open. You can come, but you'd better darn well share our ideology, share our principles, and learn our language.

Don't come here talking about "La Raza" this and that and taking back "your" land.

Don't be boarding planes in full Muslim gear speaking Arab to your suspicious looking friends. All that does is trigger people.

Learn the Pledge of Allegiance. Learn the Constitution. Learn the National Anthem. Learn WHY this country exists. Register to vote. Pay taxes. PROUDLY do these things, and you're more than welcome.

It's those that want to try to bring their home culture here that are shunned.
