It's an excellent film. The only thing I'd change about it is the very start. The first time I saw it I tuned in a couple of minutes late - when Carlitos in the courtroom - not seeing the first couple of minutes where he's dieing made the final scenes in the train station much more dramatic

There was always something missing from this movie to rank it up there with goodfellas, scarface and the godfather (1 + 2)

Probably one factor is the length of the movie.

I'm really shocked people rate Scarface so highly. To me it's a parody. I enjoy it for its unintentional comedy. I can't see how anyone actually considers it a great movie, it's absurd and corny.

Carlito's Way has real emotion to it and is tragic. One of my favourites for sure.
