  • Making friends

Why is it harder/weirder to make friends when we are older? Like we just cant hang out somewhere and meet someone then ask for an exchange of numbers to do it again but when we are young (particularly school) we can just be friends like it aint a big deal. Have any of u guys done that?

I think people's outlook on life changes as you age. For me personally I don't make new friends because I don't want to. My life is pretty set and I don't care to dedicate my time to new people. I think when we're younger we're unsure of who we are and who we want to associate with. Now that I'm older I know exactly the type of people I want around and who I definitely don't want around me. Most people suck in general, so the chances of meeting a cool person you'd actually want to chill with consistently are pretty slim.

I meet a lot of people when I go out and can typically have a good time with most people but beyond that I typically don't have an interest. I think most people look at it this way or their ego is getting in the way of opening up to new people.

Lol I feel like I've lived five lives already. 20-30 was one hell of an experience. Highest of highs to the lowest of lows, sometimes from one month to another. I certainly don't miss those days but I learned a lot and and can say I probably interacted with every type of personality type in society and every social class. All that has given me the perspective I have now.

This is a good discussion topic.

I think working 40+ hours per week has a lot to do with it. Unless your friend lives within a few minutes from you, you aren't going to ever meet up with them on weekdays.

Then in high school and college people do a lot more partying and it's way easier to make friends with someone when you are both partying.
