Coach Jones ran the football program for 8 years.
Jones ran a grinding running offense, and on defense he chose large players who hit hard and relied on brute power to stop the opponents.
Over his 8 years, he never won over 2 games a season.
Coach Smith took over and made some big changes. He replaced most of Jones's staff, assistant coaches, etc.
Smith switched to a wide open passing attack on offense, and on defense chose players noted for their speed.
Two years in, the team was looking at 4 or 5 win seasons, scoring more points, and giving up less points.
Who is responsible for the team's improvement, coach Jones or coach Smith?Comment
