    • **The Official Mueller Russiagate/Obstruction of Justice Thread**

First charges filed in Mueller investigation

A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter.

The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are.
A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.
Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.
Shortly after President Donald Trump abruptly fired then-FBI Director James Comey, Rosenstein appointed Mueller as special counsel. Mueller took the reins of a federal investigation that Comey first opened in July 2016 in the middle of the presidential campaign.
Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.
The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation. CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia.

Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures, including some people close to Manafort, and others involved in the Trump Tower meeting between Russians and campaign officials.
Last year, the Comey-led investigation secured approval from the secret court that oversees the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to monitor the communications of Manafort, as well as former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, as part of the investigation into Russian meddling.
In addition to Mueller's probe, three committees on Capitol Hill are conducting their own investigations.

        Not exactly,,,

Apr is pretty much standard,,, car, house, etc.., (credit cards usually, but there is literally thousands of different cards each with different fees/rates)

It is always over 12 months,, hence the "annual"
I would say 90% of common everyday loans are based on this..
If they are somehow different, effective rate is used to compare

Effective rate is comparing loans that are not standard. these could be House, business, car, etc.. some loans have wacky payment plans, the effective interest rate basically converts wacky payment plans into apr so you can tell if it's worth it or not..

For the most part, average dude just has to worry about apr.

The effective rate is way more technical, and more for bankers or financial planners.. it's a tool/formula to compare loans with different terms/rates...

So giving them a tax cut will only lead to decrease in tax revenue that will lead to a larger deficit which will increase the debt and we know you are a debt and deficit hawk, so you would not like that.
              You get what you earned...

Why should a high school dropout loser get enough money to pay for a family and housing?

Tax cuts aren't just a one-size fits all...

Taxes are needed, but government needs to be efficient with the money... history has shown government, especially at the federal level is incompetent at handling money.. government never has to deal with the "invisible hand" so they have no accountability

Cut government spending and tax cuts aren't a problem.

Republican budget of 4 trillion is absolutely garbage..

I will cut taxes across the board by 50% and still have enough for a strong federal government..

4 trillion dollars, and that isn't enough... can you please explain what we spend 4 trillion a year on but it's not enough and government needs more money, show me how they were effective..

Show me how obama's 3.6 trillion budget was wisely and effectively spent...

Show me how the government needs more money

Red- That's America. I am sure you can find a detailed breakdown of what he spent it on.

So you said you would cut it in half? Okay Adam Ali, tell us what spending and by how much each you would cut them to half the budget.

Now this should be easier for you than the Republicans. I hear they have pressure on them from lobbyist who prevent them from closing certain loopholes.

1bad65 - It's the real world after all. I guess it's harder from Trump to drain the swamp than was anticpated.

                  • For the record I've always said Trump was too stupid to collude with Russia. The subject line on Jr's email said "Russia - Clinton - private and confidential." ffs. Kushner talked about setting up a back channel with the Russian ambassador. That idea was so crazy the Russian ambassador thought he was being set up. These guys are not very smart.

It's Manafort, Page, and Flynn you have to watch out for. They understood how easy it is to fool Trump and take advantage of him and they most likely did.
