The point is Trump knows you cant trust the Democrats when you make a deal where you give them their demands first and rely on a promise from them to give you your demands later on the back end.

He'd need a continuing resolution, which opens the government.

And remember, Trump's door is open. Its Team D openly stating they refuse to negotiate.

Until today you were kvetching about McConnell not putting a bill up for a vote.

Now you say the Senate passed a bill.

But let's say for the sake of argument the Senate passed this bill you now reference.....

Did the House also pass that same bill?

If not, it's on them. A bill, or in this case a CR, must pass BOTH Houses of Congress and then is given the President to sign or veto.

All the House has to do is pass it too and the shutdown is over, no matter what Trump wants.
