Stormy Daniels Bags Best ’60 Minutes’ Ratings Since Obamas’ Post-Election Sit-Down In ’08


Stormy Daniels’ 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper looks to be the CBS newsmag’s best since Steve Kroft’s interview with Barack and Michelle Obama in November 2008, shortly after he was elected president, based on overnights.

That decade-old interview had attracted 24.5 million viewers, with all three segments devoted to the president-elect and his wife.

Sunday’s 60 Minutes hit 16.3/27 in the 56 Nielsen metered markets – a big night for Stormy, being way up compared with previous Sunday’s 7.6/13. Back on November 16, 2008, the Obamas’ interview clocked a metered-marked 17.4/26.

Cooper’s taped interview with Daniels will repeat tonight on his CNN primetime show, AC360.

Interest in Daniels’ story had been running high for weeks, reaching the boiling point Sunday. Several hours after the interview wrapped, the **** star who claims to have had an affair with now-president Donald Trump still was No. 1 trending topic on Twitter in the United States

Two prominent defense attorneys have declined representing President Donald Trump in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigations, The Daily Beast reported Monday.

The firm Winston & Strawn released a statement citing conflicts. Not legal conflicts of interests, but business conflicts.

“President Trump reached out to Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan to provide legal representation,” they said in a statement. “They were unable to take on the representation due to business conflicts. However they consider the opportunity to represent the President to be the highest honor and they sincerely regret that they cannot do so.”

Webb is the former U.S. Attorney for Illinois and Buchanan is a partner at the firm’s D.C. branch.

On Sunday, Trump took to Twitter to deny reports that he was having problems retaining top-notch legal representation.
