The FCC will vote on the repeal at its monthly hearing December 14. The Republican-led agency is expected to approve it on a party-line vote. Trump’s FCC chairman, Ajit Pai.

Destroying our hard fought for civil rights/liberties, one at a time.

"The rules prohibited high-speed internet service providers from blocking or slowing down the delivery of websites, or charging extra fees for the best quality of streaming and other internet services for their subscribers. Those limits are central to the concept called net neutrality".

"The clear winners from the move would be the giant companies that provide internet access to phones and computers, which have fought for years against broadband regulations. A repeal of the rules would allow the companies to exert more control over the online experiences of American consumers.

Big online companies like Amazon say that the telecom companies would be able to show favoritism to certain web services, by charging for accessing some sites but not others, or by slowing the connection speed to some sites. Small online companies say the proposal would hurt innovation. Only the largest companies, they say, would be able to afford the expense of making sure their sites received preferred treatment.

And consumers, the online companies say, may see their costs go up to get quality access to popular websites like Netflix.
Trump's supporters will find a way to defend this travesty. Trump looking out for the little guy.

Your taking my posts out of context.
Just like Trump, resort to name calling...superior attitude.

                What is Net Neutrality?
Net Neutrality is the internet’s guiding principle: It preserves our right to communicate freely online.
Net Neutrality means an internet that enables and protects free speech. It means that ISPs should provide us with open networks — and shouldn’t block or discriminate against any applications or content that ride over those networks. Just as your phone company shouldn’t decide who you call and what you say on that call, your ISP shouldn’t interfere with the content you view or post online.
Without Net Neutrality, cable and phone companies could carve the internet into fast and slow lanes. An ISP could slow down its competitors’ content or block political opinions it disagreed with. ISPs could charge extra fees to the few content companies that could afford to pay for preferential treatment — relegating everyone else to a slower tier of service. This would destroy the open internet.
What would happen if we lost Net Neutrality?
The internet without Net Neutrality isn’t really the internet. Unlike the open internet that has paved the way for so much innovation and given a platform to people who have historically been shut out, it would become a closed-down network where cable and phone companies call the shots and decide which websites, content or applications succeed.
This would have an enormous impact. Companies like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon would be able to decide who is heard and who isn’t. They’d be able to block websites or content they don’t like or applications that compete with their own offerings.

Your longing for 1958 "the good ol' days"....undoing all the advancements people have made for regular (average people-MOST PEOPLE). Trump wants corporations to have the same rights as people do. Him and republicans are for the very rich...corporations..screw the little guy. It's never good for consumers when corporations monopolies have their way.

That being said, I didn't mean this to turn into a conversation with you, because like Trump, you're always right. Have a nice day.

Removing government mandates and regulations and allowing the free market to work is hardly a travesty.

Nothing was taken out of context. This is a regulation, and it looks like the Trump Administration is removing it.

Where did I call for undoing advancements?

Don't go falsely accusing me of taking things out of context and then in the next post make a strawman argument.

Corporations are groups of people, ie investors and business owners.

Thus they deserve the same rights as people.

It's not so much a conversation as me correcting you and calling out your fallacy.

So I can see why you are leaving the discussion so quickly.
