Cultural Marxism: Why a Black James Bond is insulting to Everybody

Well, if the argument is that the character must stay true to Fleming's physical description, then the argument fails.

Im trying to get at why people are putting such emphasis on his skin colour. Bond is defined as being a British suave pu$$y magnet secret agent spy. I dont see what else is important to the character.

I dont have an issue with him being black.
Other people are making it in to this huge political issue, bringing up immigration, talking about Jesus, throwing personal insults, dishing out red k etc etc. According to many its liberal propaganda or something. Its crazy.
I just want to know why the uproar.

The uproar is from the same people who made an uproar about Bale as Moses(and an all white cast for that matter). It's not about black hatred, it's about laziness in Hollywood. Why be so uncreative with films, wanting to just take an existing character and just voila, changing him/her up from black to white or white to black or from male to female, or straght to gay. No creativity at all, that's what you are defending.

Why not remake Shaft with him?
There's a black Green Lantern, who is possibly the best GL out of all of them, why not make a GL movie with him?
Here is a tough one: How about a completely new story with a completely new character?

Why do we have to change races, genders, ***uality? Because 2015 is the year for all the bull**** so Hollywood has to capitilize on it? Just like "the world is ending" type of news and Hollywood immediately capitilitzes on that **** and people eat in to it. Just like this, you got your group that are eating right into Hollywood's bull****.

Actually ive changed my mind. I prefer Bond white. But i wont argue about it, because i never really liked Bond.

I guess its like changing Supermans costume to dungarees. A whitey Bond is kinda iconic.

Well, Hollywoods lust for remakes and their lazy imaginations is a different topic.
Bond actors only make a few films and get replaced.

Think ive changed my mind again. I couldnt give a flying **** if he is black. As long as the women he shags are stunning, and the action is decent. Still couldnt give a crap about what colour he is.

hollywood has been white-washing every role since its inception so it goes both ways. bond is a fictional character so i don't really give a **** about this. non-fiction figures should always stay true to their race however because that actually is offensive.

I actually liked Casino Royale and Skyfall.

Quantum of Solace was meh.

I liked Craig as Bond.

Think he pulled off the diamond in the rough SAS solider turned covert spy pretty well.

The older Bond films never really aged well with me. Just not my kind of cheesy, I guess.

I have no problems if Stringer Bell takes over the role.

If the movie is good production wise, I'll catch it.

I seriously doubt a bag of tea would be convincing as James Bond.

This isn't really about black/white, in the same sense it will be to Fat Yankistanians.

The UK isn't a culturally diverse place, no matter what people will tell you - even now only around 13% of the population are non-white British.

The whole point with Bond is that he's from the age of the Empire, a time when people were ****s. A throwback. It's ingrained in the character that he's essentially... God, I've got a hangover. You get my point.

Having him black is the same as making Nick Fury black. (A man who was supposed to have fought in WWII, a time when a black Sergeant in the army would have been unlikely)

Did Elba's blackness affect the movie in any way shape or form?

Was that character a character who has been established in over 50 years of film history? Hardly. It was a secondary character from comic books that few people probably had any idea who it was.
