the older rockets carry a 20kg warhead or so and has a range of 20 km. newer rockets have bigger warheads and/or longer range. for comparison hellfire missiles used by apache attack helicopted carry only 8-9kg warheads and they use those to blow up tanks and buildings.

those were technically ballistic/cruise missiles designed to cross the channel.

a better comparison would be USSR katyusha rockets which were deadly and horrifying on the eastern front.

a scud missile carries a 1,000kg warhead and can be fired hundreds of km away.

a 122mm rocket has a range of only 20-45km with a 20kg warhead.

which is more deadly?

most will say the scud.

but scuds need large silos, trucks, easier to find. easier to attack. not as prolific. takes longer to set up. and so on.

a 122mm rocket is plentiful. easier to set up. has big enough warhead and range.

that's why the iranians supplied them with it and not their versions of the scud.

firing rockets, like any form of artillery, takes precise calculation.

that's why armies need officers who are college educated or academy trained to plot targets.

hamas just points them in a direction and fires them.
