  • they play 160 games in the mlb. around 80 in the nhl, nba.

MLS tickets, outside of a few markets, are dirt cheap. they have a 34 game season.

you used to only be able to buy revolution tickets in packs, meaning that you couldn't buy a ticket for just one game, but you'd need to commit to several.

to call those numbers misleading is understating it.

if you think that MLS / soccer is as popular as any of the major sports, you probably don't live here.

unless you live in seattle, nobody gives a f#ck about the MLS other than kids, immigrants, etc.

Baseball isnt quite global, but its big in three different continents, were good at that

Hockey is big in many other countries, were good at that

MMA and Boxung are basically global, were good at those

We used to be giants at tennis, still have good women, but the men have fallen off
      .
Boxing, MMA, Hockey are fringe sports.. Basketball slightly above that..

USA are just not good at sports that the world actually cares about

Soccer is not followed here, and world cup viewership really doesnt prove otherwise the same as the viewership of Usain Bolts olympic efforts is proof that Americans are die hard sprinting fans. It was on when nothing else was on and was interesting to see what was up.

Don't think anyone really said it is. It's funny watching you guys get trolled into busting out stats n ****

We know football isn't as popular but it's certainly on the rise in Fat Yanksville and it's not something that "no one cares about" as you guys often like to claim.

            "stats"

pardon me for knowing how many games are played in each league, and that the MLS needs trickery to get people to watch their games in most markets.

The staples center only holds 18,000 people. Yankee Stadium holds 50,000

Also factor in that the NBA and NHL play 3 games a week 82 a season. MLB plays 162 games a season, 6 games a week, MLS plays... 34

Also... Most MLS teams don't have their own stadiums... They borrow them from football teams, or universities... Sounds like quite a popular sport eh?
Wow, slow down. I never said that soccer is more popular or as popular as those two sports. It just funny that soccer is outdrawing those two sports that are considered mayor sports in the US. And you are all constantly saying that "nobody cares about soccer", "it's a sport for f@gs and girls only". Well, in that case, there must be a lot of f@gs in the US then...

Your excuse about the stadiums is irrelevant really. It's not the seating capacity, it's the number what's really important here. If you start putting chess matches in stadiums it won't draw 18.000 people. The other link there have stats that will make you see this better:

              USA average: 18,880
              France's Ligue 1:19,300
              Dutch Eredivisie: 19,500
              Mexico's Liga MX: 25,400

Considering Football in France, Mexico and Netherlands is their main sport, it doesn't seem like you "don't care at all about this sport". Again, I'm not trying to say it's a mayor sports in the US but I don't think it's all black and white like you all are trying it to make saying that "no one cares". I think some of you like to tell that to yourselves because you'd like to think that "you are not failing at a sport if you don't care about it" to justify the poor performance of your country at an international level.
