and let's be honest, a lot of our cops are not very fit.

plus there's other issues with stunguns too.

that bart cop mistook his gun for his taser and killed that criminal in the bay.

2 florida cops got killed using their taser. they tasered this guy who ended up shooting them because they got caught offguard using a taser.

for riot control they should use fire extinguisher size pepper sprays and those pepper paintballs.

those pepper paintballs are filled with like pepper powder. makes you cough like crazy and even though it hurts, no chance of killing an innocent bystander.

the stronger the criminals get the softer the police force becomes...
a thug that points a gun at an officer losses all human rights at that moment imo

            any weapon imo.

bat, knife, gun, bottle, etc. = shot with a gun

no weapon = you get the baton

you can hit your head hard enough to die.
Yes you can. But you can do that with batons as well. Batons require much more use of force than tasers meaning here's a greater chance of serious injuries.

We have the technology for our law enforcers to disarm and immobilise people at will.

Yet most shoot, and often kill.

The same people whom say 'don't even lock em up, kill em' cry foul play when an innocent or unjustified injury/death occurs.

Because when empowered with the right or ability to kill - it never goes wrong or becomes somewhat corrupt right.

What are they gonna do, let people go because there's no more room in jail? They're gonna release prisoners before their time is up, to make room for more prisoners? I don't get it.
so your solution is to off all threats then? lol

Less lethal options are not that effective and to be used effectively requires a lot of things being in place. In the video shown in the OP the person is contained and they are able to get multiple tactical officers on the scene to take him into custody. What you can't see in the video is at least one and probably two marksmen who were ready to shoot him dead if the baton rounds failed.

A taser is not much use for a solo officer. The use it against a dangerous subject you need at least one other officer ready to run in and handcuff the subject after the current stops. More likely is that you will see it deployed with at least two other officers, one of whom will be ready with his gun drawn. Tactical officers will have four tasers trained on the subject from a squad of six, leaving one officer with a gun drawn and another ready with cuffs.

Tasers are really effective at incapacitating people (unless they are really fat or wearing very thick clothing) but stop being effective as soon as the current wears off, which is why the officer has to be ready to subdue the subject.

Pepper spray isn't great and can make people panic. Pepper rounds has the same effect. Baton rounds can be OK but it's rare to see them used against an armed suspect because you need to have about a dozen officers in place for it to be effective.
