mars small planet low gravity and weak magnetic field cannot support atompshere.. even if u terraform it and put back some atmosphere it will still be blown off by the solar wind because it has a weak mangetic shield and very low gravity.

Common knowledge yes but I didn't know that according to the article if i read correctly it was massive fresh water bodies just like drinking water not salt water oceans. That's new to me.

As a child watching Nat Geo, Disc, Sci channel growing up I was always under the impression that we knew Mars was once covered with water similar to Earth, because they always depicted Mars on TV as having large bodies of water billions of years ago. I didn't know that we didn't know. I guess it was a theory that has been proven only now, but I always believed that theory because it did make sense.
