This was around the time of the Louis Theroux documentary about him in which he all but admitted it. He's had suspicion over him since the seventies but just had too many friends in high places including politicians and members of the royal family, allegedly.

In 1978, Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols alluded to Savile's actions in a BBC radio interview. One of the things Rotten said was that he would like to kill Savile for what he had done. Rotten's comments were edited out by the BBC prior to broadcasting, but the complete interview was included as a bonus track on a re-release of Public Image Ltd's 1978 debut album Public Image: First Issue in 2013, after Savile's death.

"In January 2013, a joint report by the NSPCC and Metropolitan Police, "Giving Victims a Voice", stated that 450 people had made complaints against Savile, with the period of alleged abuse stretching from 1955 to 2009 and the ages of the complainants at the time of the assaults ranging from eight to forty-seven."

That's not even a pedo, that guy probably raped dogs and inanimate objects too
