If he is 12 he won't live long. My friends nan adopts old dogs she spoils them rotten for a few years and then they die. No idea how she copes with her dog dying every couple of years.

the health of your dog at that age will depend a good deal on the breed and his level of care over the course of his life. if a senior citizen is 65 years old, and i'd say your dog is at that stage in his life or further if he is 12.


some smaller dogs live longer. and mutts are generally more vital than are pure bred dogs.
