Probably along with amla the best batsman in the world at the moment. Cook is not far behind them.

Eng top order is very good. Cook, Trott, KP, Bell and Prior are all solid players. Root and Compton are gifted newcomers.

Tbh I don't see Compton going far in the test team. Root is a very good talent

If NC flops, Bairstow et al are there to step in. Eng has good bench strength now.

Pup and Amla are clearly 1/2 in the world atm.

I like the Yorkshire squad, they have some good young exciting players. But my heart is always with Essex.

NZL will rely massively on McCullum, Williamson and Taylor for runs. But if Eng score only 200 odd, its an open game.

You would be correct I'd be surprised if they surpassed 220. However you can never rule out players like McCullum. On his day (which isn't often tbf) he can take a bowling line up apart.
