When people remember this generation they won't remember groups like Canibal Ox, People Under the Stairs or Immortal Technique.

They will remember Lil Wayne, Nikki Minaj and Kanye West. Sorry that's not fair but it's the truth.

There is some excellent hip hop and MC's, it's just they are being drowned out by the Soldier Boys of today.
Thats true. Hell, ive come across many minstream hip hop fans who have never even listened to nas, as sad as that sounds/is.

But yeah, i can turn on the radio for any genre and think wtf if this ****.

Love Biggie, he is like my life mentor. His lyrics were less serious then Pac's but his delivery and flow were superior.

The Problems is kids who listen to Rock know the legends of the past, yet kids who listen Hip Hop/Rap don't know the history or legends of the past Grandmaster Flash etc. It's changed too much and deviated from a thing that used to unite a people to a genre about MC's and a 'The Beat' of the song. Most DJ's have been replaced by drum machines and if you can't play it in the club then don't play it at all.

It's not so much that, it's like a fighter who is hungry compared to a fighter who has made it.

when you are coming up and hungry, you do your best work. When you are already rich and made it, you won't.

Not really... depends on the person.

Pac started peaking with All Eyez On Me and Makavelli, and at the point, for a 90s rapper, he was already rich.

you're missing my point. obviously everyone grows up, but pac made it seem like he was something he wasn't earlier in his life.

When he was 24 he wasn't acting like he was a thug when he was 17. He was acting like he was a thug when he was 24.

I think it has to do with selling records.

All these new cats figured out that you don't need to put out quality shit to sell.

So as a result, we got dudes like 2 Chainz, Wayne and Drake runnin the game.
