DNA evidence proves that the Scots, Welsh, English and Irish are all the same people.
With the exception of relatively recent immigrants, 78% to 90% of the people in all 4 are descended from the native Britons, who are genetically related to the Basque of northern Spain.
Most of northern Europe was covered in ice for several millennium. The "Britons" arrived in the British Isles from Spain through France and across a land bridge in the latter part of the last Ice Age, as more land was becoming clear of ice, some 10,000 years ago. After the British Isles became separated from the mainland as waters rose, the Britons had little contact with mainland Europe for several thousand years, and although they were advanced in agriculture, did not know how to use iron and make steel until the Celts arrived in the first millennium BC.
The Celts brought their language, but never settled in large numbers. Neither did the Romans, Jutes, Angles, Saxons, or Normans. The Danes did wipe out the native population in parts of York county and the Norse did the same in the northernmost part of Scotland and on some Islands. But none of these peoples settled in significant numbers.
So why should the Scots hate the English? They have much more genetically in common with the English than they have with the mainland European peoples (except for the Basque).

While England does not have an official national anthem, there are many songs which are considered to fill such a role. In most of the national sporting fixtures 'God Save the Queen' is used.
The song used at the Commonwealth Games and favored as the English national anthem is "Jerusalem":

Wrong! Wrong wrong wrong! This is the biggest issue I have with the singing of the national anthem. You yanks never sing your own bloody anthem. You always get some pretentious **** to warble a vague representation of the tune instead of just letting it be sung.
Your anthem has been spoiled by ****witted singers who see their attempt as their moment in the spotlight instead of giving the song the respect it deserves. Butchering the British anthem like that is a hanging offence in England and quite bloody right too.
Don't be silly. Wegians can't tell the time!
