was the world suppose to end at 12:00am sharp or 11:59pm, right before the 22nd? or is it suppose to happen throughout the day like at noon through the evening?

it's 11:32pm here in chicago. maybe it doesn't go into effect until the entire planet has hit the 21st on their calendars?
