I am looking to get another AR but the one that I am interested in is out of stock... I am now thinking about getting a rifle chamber in .300 instead. What is the difference between the .300 vs .223/5.56? Is there any benefit to getting the .300 or should I just wait and get another .223/5.56?

If you're talking about .300 blackout

Its a .223/5.56 case with a .30 caliber bullet

All you need is a .300 barrel change

Magazines, bolts, etc. all the same


.300 blackout ballistically is similar to 7.62x39mm of AK/SKS but can be fired it 5.56 AR


.300 blackout advantages over 5.56 is heavier, larger bullet (but slower and not flat trajectory)

.300 blackout performs better from short barrels

5.56 has longer range and more velocity and flatter trajectory but losses those advantages with shorter barrels

.300 blackout is also better with suppressors since you can load heavy subsonic bullets

Breaking bad it took me like 4-5 times trying to watch the 1st couple episodes before i got into it

I barely watched the series this year
