Get used to pwning JJ + Romney.

Romney is a flip-flopping machine, anyone taking up the task of defending his talking points is already underwater.

Haha, he really doesn't realize how he just proved the main concept he was trying to convey, wrong, by not even knowing one of the talking points.

He said that "we need tort reform" so insurance companies won't have to pay out potential high damages in med-mal cases against hospitals, and dr.'s. . In turn, he claims, this will make insurance cheaper for us. pardon the cliche, but it's the classic "trickle down" argument: Insurance companies save money, and therefor will pass the savings off to the individuals.

But one thing. . . Tort reform (DEFORM) has already happened in just about every state. Texas is probably the state that saw the most drastic changes regarding damage caps in med mal suits. It's ridiculous some of the caps they have in place. . Now, aside from this being a violation of the constitution (taking away the right of a jury to decide, and putting it in the hands of the legislators), it HAS FAILED!!! Insurance costs have not gotten cheaper! In fact, just the opposite has happened - in most cases, and under most circumstances, they have GONE UP!!

Gee! Why won't the insurance companies pass their savings along to us!!!??

I could literally make an entire thread about why tort reform has failed, and is unconstitutional. . . But simply for the sake of the argument that it will make medical costs, and insurance cheaper for us, is simply not true. Same with corporations - prices will not go down if caps are placed on the amounts they can be sued for in negligence cases.

Bumped to ensure nobody misses how stupid Jeffries is. . HAHAH HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW TORT REFORM HAS ALREADY OCCURRED! LOL, so according to him, insurance should have already gone down? Hahaha what a moron. .

For the second part, if insurance companies can never turn people away for preexisting conditions, why on earth would anyone maintain insurance? Just wait till you get sick and buy it. Just wait till your house burns down (or floods) and buy fire (or flood) insurance, wait till you die and let your family buy life insurance, etc ad nauseam.

According to a CBO study, 20 times as many Americans don't have insurance because they can't afford it, than because they were denied for preexisting conditions.

And of the 3.5% of those without coverage for pre exist conds, only 82K have actually signed up for Obama's pre exist plan.

                http://www.healthcare.gov/news/facts...09142012a.html

The biggest problem with healthcare in this country is that it's so expensive and likewise health insurance. We need to be able to purchase health insurance across state lines and tort reform that will reduce the cost of malpractice insurance (which is passed on to the patient.) Ideas that were ignored (along with dozens of other Republican plans) by Obama in the creation of the hyper partisan Obamacare. Romney plans to address the cost issue and develop a high risk insurance pool to deal with those currently being denied health insurance.

                While we're posting goofy videos:

Exactly the reason why healthcare shouldn't be a private for profit enterprise. Health comes second when money is involved.

Unfortunately, you're pretty close to being correct. . .

But you gotta have them degrees if you want to practice law, and be able to potentially make 300k in one year
