you can't sit and watch and pray five thugs don't hurt you and/or your family...these punks need to know that there's people out there that are willing to fight back...is like dropping your guard in a boxing match and hope the other guy won't hit you...

If you are untrained in gun handling in situations such as this, the smart move is not to use or encourage the use of weapons against the robber.

Introducing another weapon into the situation increases the chances of someone becoming injured during the robbery. No amount of money is worth the risk of endangering a person’s life.

Even highly trained cops faced with that kind of situation would not immediately confront the armed robbers. Cops would first assess how many robbers are there, how many among them are armed, their locations, bystanders that can be hurt or use as hostages, etc etc.

The first reaction of any cop worth his badge is not to engage unless there is an imminent danger to personnel or customers lives.

Grandma is lucky it ended the way it ended. She and other people in the store are lucky no serious shootout happened. It was obvious the robbers were not prepared for it. Some thieves come prepared.

Grandma in this incident is brave but foolish. She endangered the lives of innocent people and hers.

Furthermore, she went after the robbers when the idiots decided to flee already. It is highly suggested never to chase or follow the robber. The robber may shoot at any pursuers or the police may shoot at you, too, thinking you are a robber.

I highly doubt that thoses idiots will every go back there. Any kind
Of confidence that had is all gone. That 65 year old woman showed that people are fighting back against crime. Hopefully this was a life changing lesson for all of them.

I agree with a poster’s comment that this could have ended very badly for grandma.

Trying to gun down five robbers single-handedly is a serious mistake… running solo after the thieves is stupidity.

She is lucky the robbers are inexperienced and not geared up to shoot it out with an old lady not even adept with her own gun.

I hope the robbers are caught soon because they most likely will be back more organized and armed with more weapons ready for any shootout. They’ve been shot at and they won’t forget.

Unless one is very proficient with his weapon and is clearly at an advantage, it is best not to resist armed robbers. The money is not worth risking a life.

What she needed to do was to put a bullet in their ass not shot at them. She had the upper hand and could've easily taken out one of them if not two and I wish she had.
