This has always been the way I would and still explain what Game of Thrones is. I had always been a fan of the books and when the first season was announced I knew it would be a success.

This is a series where no one is safe and anyone could die. If you're looking for a series where the good guys always win and live happily ever after then this is not for you.

Basically. There's not really good or bad guys, and far less magic than Lord of the Rings. Great show, and I'd suggest finishing the first season before giving up.
