Intelligent Design has been demonstrated to be unnecessary and extremely improbable (as in nothing can ever be disproved, including unicorns and leprechauns). If there was a designer -- it did a fantastically shitty job.

Evolution by natural selection is a fact. Not only is it observable, but is actually supported by mountains of evidence (DNA, Transitional Fossils) and aligns perfectly with everything else that we have ever learned about the Earth.
