  • [HOLY S**T!] US troops in Iraq executed an extended family, including women and children

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...,435906.column

Even the reporter who wrote the story didn't want to believe it. Could U.S. troops in central Iraq really have handcuffed and executed an extended family, including four women and five small children?

Matthew Schofield of McClatchy Newspapers wrote the story about those allegations more than five years ago, based on reports from Iraqi authorities and a medical examiner in the town of Ishaqi, an incident American forces allegedly tried to cover up with a subsequent airstrike.

From March 2006 until today, Schofield had not been able to put the story out of mind. And now, despite repeated denials by U.S. military officials of any misdeed, a diplomatic cable newly released by WikiLeaks corroborates the newsman's concerns.

"We need a thorough investigation of this," Schofield said. "It's been too long. We need to know what happened in Ishaqi."

It's far from certain we will get a definitive answer. Back then, the war in Iraq had spiraled into its most violent period. The media scrambled to keep up with daily violence. Reporters had enough on their hands trying to account for an attack several months earlier, in which U.S. Marines retaliated for a roadside bombing in Haditha by killing two dozen Iraqis, including women and children.

Today, much of the American public and media have moved on. The deadliest American war is now in Afghanistan. Economic anguish and the odd hurricane fill the headlines. Ten years after the 9/11 attacks, we would all prefer to recall the heroic moments in the war on terror — such as the cops and firefighters giving up their own lives to rescue fellow New Yorkers and the overwhelming majority of troops who have fought honorably for their country.

    Scumbags.

Old news, there have been tons of cases like this. Someone shoots at a soldier and runs away, soldier calls his 20 buddies and get all pumped up and go into random houses and start shooting.

There was a case where they hit a IED in their Humvee and when they jumped out they saw a white car driving the other way, so they killed them instantly and one of the guys ran away from the bullets, they followed him into "some house" and basically killed like 20 people including kids in 4 houses surrounding that one house.

Turns out those guys were actually innocent people and the guys in the house were just regular citizens.

The war is just a huge mess. Only so Defence contractors make billions off the Government selling them $10 snicker bars and charging them $2 a bullet.

if you see some of the documentaries its insane, and people wonder why they hate them.

Imagine America getting invaded by some dudes who dont speak your language and if you defend your house you are called a terrorist with all your family killed? Yea,,,,, thats whats happening in IRaq/Afghanistan.

Like I said there are tons of great documentaries out there, its really sad whats going on.

Iraq was one of the best ME countries to live in, christians/muslims/jews lived together, everyone was educated for free, free health care and woman had rights and could walk around without a rag on their heads. But Since Saddam wanted to use the Gold standard and wanted to switch away from the USD that was baaaaad.

So they pretended he had some magical WMD that never existed. Now look where the country is at?

I have a buddy here that came from Iraq after the war started and he is cursing USA, wanna know who he is? a CHRISTIAN Iraqi who's family lived there for hundreds of years and lived in peace with muslims and could go to church freely. now Iraq is full of Taliban/Al-Qaeda scum who came over from Pakistan/Saudi Arabia/Afghanistan to screw up the country since Saddam killed all the terrorists.

This is part of the horror of a guerrilla war. When every enemy is indistinguishable from the citizenry the citizenry suffer disproportionately.

The war has turned into a mess that's evident. They do not want to pull out due to ridicule. These people should be condemned for their actions.

The bombings in Libya are acts of terrorism in itself - killing hundreds of innocent citizens. The governments have lost their minds in the western world, they are making leaders scapegoats to make gains for themselves i.e oil.

I'm not saying it happened or it didn't.

It sure could've happened though, we've heard horror stories like that in afghanistan, iraq and Guantanamo Bay. Those are the horrors of war, it's civilians who pay the price.

Let's not completely exonerate the gangsters and terrorists who impersonate civilians, hide among them and intimidate them into compliance in order to further their agenda of religious fascism.

You would think a country like the US with a history of colonization, slavery and 'forcing a will and way upon other' would be smarter than to do this kind of ting. Unfortunately, history always repeats itself. Revolution have to come from their own people rising up when they're ready for a change, not from an outside source.
