On common people application, I think, Tesla's invention is more useful. But smarts, I would like to say Einstein. Not just on mere inventions but his words that are enlightening too.

Tesla's other inventions were deemed classified by the FBI coz they're potentially dangerous

i've read somewhere that Tesla once criticised Einstein and not really impressed with his Relativity theory claiming its already rehashed and was originally formulated by a fellow Polish scientist
