Rent in New York City is $1,300-$1,500 a month. So you better be living with some one unless you got a good enough job to pay that much rent. Either that or if you live in the projects.

21 and at home. I plan on moving into a dorm next year and have my own place by the time I graduate. My parents and I are close but I think its about that time I strike out on my own. I could rent out a studio, or something cheap just for myself so I don't have to worry about people abusing the electric bill/water/stealing my food lol

Rent is different everywhere, in places like NY and L.A the rent is no joke. While here you can acquire a dumb nice condo across the street from the baseball stadium for only 1k a month.
