Bush declines NYC-Ground Zero invite from Obama

President Obama invited former President George W. Bush on a visit to Ground Zero on Thursday but Bush has declined, according to two people familiar with the situation.

Obama will travel to the site of the World Trade Center attacks of Sept. 11 in the days following the killing of Osama bin Laden in a U.S. special forces operation in Pakistan. He will meet with families of Sept. 11 victims, according to the Associated Press.

Obama last went to Ground Zero in 2008.

You right...but I think it would be a good show of unity for them to come together. Bush deserves credit too, no matter how much I disliked him.

As much as some people discount Bush's intelligence...the guy is a good ole boy.

I think it was more of a gesture by Obama to be nice and i think Bush realized that.

Kind of like inviting a guy to a party you really dont want coming because he heard about it..... the cool guys get the hint and decline
