I pointed this out some many pages ago and you probably saw it, but it's interesting that Lord Beric Dondarrion was brought back by his priest, Thoros, who like the Red Woman had absolutely no faith in himself or his religion anywhere, totally abandonded it and only wore the "robe" for show. But when his friend Dondarrion died, he keeled over him and "said the words", not because he believed they would work but because he didn't know what else to say. And of course, Beric rose from the dead. Just like how the Red Woman had lost all faith, at least in herself and never believed the words she spoke would bring Jon back. And yet they did. Last night when she came back in the room, she had that look when you don't study for a quiz but get your test score back and see that you got an A. lol

I like it. Very interesting catch.

How is it a big part, when this is literally the first time we have ever heard about this widows retirement home.. Nowhere has this been mentioned until now.. And everything in the books and shows has basically done the exact opposite if there really was a widows home the whole time, and not just made up filler. Just because the show reused a set doesn't mean that this plot was thought of from the beginning.. It's just a tacked on plot to kill time

No, this is literally the in universe location she went to in season one when she ate the horse heart. Vaes Dothrak its called. The widows are the Dosh Khaleen.

Just because you forgot about it, doesnt mean it didnt exist

Well, yes it's the first time viewers hear of it, but the only question
is whether anything that has happened prior CONTRADICTS this said
            tradition.

I'm among the first in line to call bullshit on what I feel are plot holes
in the show, but this one you're complaining about actually squeaks
            past the bullshit bar.

When Khal Drogo croaks, why doesn't his khalassar tell Daenerys
that she has to go back to Vaes Dothrak?

Well, many of the lot leave, maybe to form their own khalassars.
Maybe they want to do their own thing ASAP and don't want to
waste any more time on their ex-Khaleesi's bat-shitiness. Maybe they
were all thinking "the ones left behind with her can deal with it."

The ones left behind don't try to take Daenerys to widowland, maybe
because she'd already declared she would turn to ashes with her Khal:

In a roaring, big-ass funerary pyre.
            Which she fucking survived.
            Bearing three fucking newhatched dragons.

I'd say that's plausible basis for a new cult or belief system to have
grown around Daenerys, at the expense of old Dothraki traditions.

Those who were not present to witness the pyre, or at minimum
her maternal relationship with the dragons, wouldn't be impressed,
which is why Daenerys has been getting some badly-needed cardio
            walking back to Vaes Dothrak.

Did HBO spring this 'tradition' on viewers, out of the blue? Yes.
Danaerys had it sprung on her in similar manner, too...
and now we can empathize with little white-haired stumpy.

              Nope, it's from the books:

Khalasars have no fixed settlements and rely heavily on raiding neighboring nations, and each other, for subsistence. Although they disdain the exchange of currency, they do give and accept gifts, often including slaves. Sometimes a strong khalasar may threaten to sack one of the Free Cities or demand tribute, but their favorite target for slaving are the docile Lhazareen herders. Dothraki can erect large grass canopies for special occasions, but typically live in portable tents, always on the move. The Dothraki have only one permanent city, called Vaes Dothrak, which serves as their capital. While khalasars are typically rivals on the plains, in Vaes Dothrak all Dothraki must behave as brothers. No one may spill blood or draw a blade in the city, on pain of death. The wives of khals, called khaleesis, live in Vaes Dothrak once widowed. There they serve as seers as the dosh khaleen.

I think you forget your past seasons. It was shown to us on HBO a long time ago. When Drogo died, it was revealed to viewers that his khaleesi (Dany) must "retire" to Vaes Dothrak. Daenerys of course, refused this and instead declaring herself a khaleesi in her own right and formed her own khalasar from what few of Drogo's people hadn't abandoned her (remember her walking with her loyal "blood riders"? Those blood riders were supposed to escort her to Vaes Dothrak), which of course she was only able to do because some of these people saw her rebirth in fire and birth of the dragons.

Thanks... I'll go review that ep. (was it Fire and Blood?) but...

I don't recall anyone saying Daenerys had to go back to
Vaes Dothrak to join other ex-khaleesis in some widows'
                  retirement home.
Did it happen in an earlier ep?

                  Of 'Fire and Blood"...
what I recall is she was sidelined by childbirth as Drogo lay
dying (or being pseudo-healed by that aggrieved priestess).

At that point Dany wasn't a widow yet, because Drogo was
not actually dead yet, so I'm assuming no one brought up a
tradition of a "widow's retreat" ... but help me, and point out
                  when it happened, ИATAS.

                  Anyways, as I recall...
Post-stillbirth, Dany wakes up to find Drogo's khalassar gone.
All that are left are mostly slaves and actual blood-relatives
of Drogo (as indicated later in her funerary speech).

Dany smothers a purely-vegetative Drogo with a pillow.

Now a widow, Dany is next shown at Drogo's funerary pyre,
intending to join him in the flames. Only Ser Friendzo-- err,
Ser Jorah tries to dissuade her, but not so she can honor
some Dothraki tradition. He wants to sell the dragon eggs so
she (and of course he) can book it back to Westeros.

Does someone else urge Dany to go back to Vaes Dothrak,
                  in a later season?
