Again, a popular myth that is promulgated by wealthy elites but one without basis in reality. As I have shown above, even the far right Fox network concedes that the income gap between the wealthy and all else has INCREASED. This means we are not headed towards socialism as so many far right pundits believe but are headed towards plutocratic oligarchy.

Has this concentration of wealthy brought about a higher quality of life for the middle class and others? The answer is a resounding NO:

      http://www.bestcashcow.com/the_econo...ing-in-decline

American Standard of Living in Decline

Our standard of living is in decline. Sure, we may have more cars, more tvs, more iPods, but we’re working harder and harder to get them and borrowing more and more to afford them. As a country, I feel that we are poorer today than we were 8 years ago, and perhaps even than we were thirty years ago.

I believe at the root of the problem is one thing: the government’s calculation of inflation.

      * The price of housing has more than doubled since 1997 in most parts of the country, resulting in mortgage payments that have taken a recent percent of a buyer’s salary. This is true even with record low interest rates factored in.
      * Health costs have been skyrocketing. In 2007, the average rise in health-care premiums is expected to be 12%. The average worker’s salary will go up less than 3%.
      * The price of energy is at record highs and shows no sign of coming down.
      * The price of food is increasing.

Today the government fails to adequately measure inflation and its impact upon our daily lives. Bankruptcies are at an all time high. Infrastructure continues to decline. All this started under Bush and sadly has not been halted under Obama.

No it's not. His opinion is of the conformist liberal, on the moral high ground. He's the type who'd say he'd be taxed 90% if he could afford it.

I just recently got a really good job freelancing for a website owned by AOL, a company worth $4 billion. If they got taxed a lot more, do you think they'd still decide to start a whole new business? Do you think I'd have my job by punishing the people with money?

Do you think its right punishing the people with no money?

Taxes in general are bullshit, but if you're gonna tax, tax the ones that could afford it, not the people who are hanging by a thread as it is.

              1. Government redistribtuion of wealth and government spending
              2. Banks loaning to small businesses

THAT'S WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO! Even if the top 200 richest in America put the money in the bank, isn't that money which will go to be loaned to small businesses and made a profit off of BETTER THAN GOVERNMENT WASTE AND MISMANAGEMENT?

              Who's the ****ing idiot now?

              lol what?

Those are the 2 options? You assertion is a fallacy so I wont debate it.

You're confusing taxes on business vs taxes on private income. Nobody who is smart believes in taxing companies further, because CEO's and boards will find ways to cut their employees and other things in order to keep their own salarys. Mark Cuban is actually really smart if you read his blog on the subjects such as these.

However, I would prefer stricter enforcement of the taxes on business that are largely loop-holed to death.

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? In America these days if you're poor you're actually very rich! You should check out all of the wellfare and unemployment near-entitlements.

Yes, when it comes down to it, those are the two options. EITHER you are going to REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH, or you're gonna create jobs. No nation has ever redisdributed into prosperity, has it?

Why do taxes need to be raised on ANYBODY these days, anyway? Guess what? I was just in my delivery job on Thurs, commodities went up... butter, milk, gas, etc. Are businesses gonna raise prices or lose profit? They're barely holding on as it is, and you want to raise taxes?

No, I'm not confusing anything. If Bill Gates and Warren Buffet put their money into Bank of America savings accounts, you'd see unemployment go down almost 1 or 2%, guaranteed.

On that subject. Bill Gates saying he wouldn't mind being taxed more. Shooting himself in the foot, irght? WRONG. He's made most of his money, or a huuuge chunk of it from public school systems buying contracts with M$, so don't listen to him.

I have a philosophical belief that taxes, or payment without receiving a service, is morally, ethically, and functionally wrong.

Besides, if it's the poor you worry about, don't you think people are better at helping other people than a bureaucrat in Washington? Planning YOUR lives from the beltway?

Question: Do you feel you're better at managing where money goes than the government? Or do you think the government knows what's best and will do that because people are naturally greedy? Please answer.
