is judaism a race or religion?

There are by-and-large two types of Jews, European and Asian (e.g. Middle Eastern). The Asian Jews are by and large Semitic, as are Arabs. Thus, the term anti-Semitic (in referring to anti-Jewish) is really a bit of a misnomer.

So in short, Jew is a religion and not a race. However, in accordance with the political-speak of the day, Jews are basically treated as a race. It's a little bit confusing.
