  • In the realm of Christianity, why do children suffer?

Children who really don't know the difference between wrong or right, children who aren't mature or even old enough to comprehend consequence therefore not truly able to fully understand the word of god. Why do they suffer?

All across the world, there are children who suffer on a daily basis. There those who are born into the world and abandoned, there are those who are raped, molested, mutilated and murdered.

What is the reasoning behind THEIR pain? THEIR suffering?

in the realm of christianity, many forget about "free will".. sure the children shouldnt suffer and it doesnt seem right, but in christianity, god gave everyoen free will, and there are responsibilities for the actions of everyone..

I'm asking a serious question. In most religion, we are given a choice of whether to be people of light or people of dark. The path we choose will dictate where we will end up in the afterlife. Whenever something bad or good happens, it is because it is "god's will" and it is part of his "plan".

What possible plan could there be for a 4 year old child to be raped and molested? What is this child's test? A child who cannot truly make a concious choice based on their morality.

Anybody that believes in god is a simple minded fool.

I have never seen conclusive answers to these questions in Christianity other than God works in mysterious ways. In Buddhism reaping suffering in the cases you describe would be a result of bad karma in previous lives. The kids may not have done anything bad in this life but caused suffering in former lives and are now paying their karmic debt.
